| The
80's are back, and so is your perfect body! |

After making a purchase on my first
record player recently, I am finally
able to play my Jane Fonda Workout Records.
Working out to audio has given me a
whole new angle on Jane's aerobics -
to me it's fun, new, and pushing me
to really go for the burn. |

| Going
for the Burn - Why Fondettes are fitter than others. |

What
are Fondettes?
Fondette was a term coined in the 80's
at Jane's fitness studios. If you work
out with Jane Fonda, you are a Fondette.
And in the spirit of the 21st century,
if you visit this site regularly then
you too are also a Fondette. Users of
the New
Workout may have heard Leslie Lillian
calling the class Fondettes.
Why Fondettes are fitter than others?
Well I guess we aren't all fitter
than others, but for the most part, it's
because Jane's fitness programs include
a huge range of different ways to stay
healthy. One of which is the audio workout.
The whole philosophy behind these albums
is a holistic approach to physical and
mental well-being. From the disco diddy
"Wanna be Startin' Somethin'?"
by the Michael Jackson to the fast electric
and powerful "Megatron Man"
by Patrick Cowley; there's music here
to provide a variety of dance and exercise
experiences to fill not only physical,
but emotional needs.
The music forms the basis for a series
of carefully structured exercises (from
beginner through advanced) which utilize
each part of your body in specific sequence.
Where ether you're 15 or 50, with help
from these albums and a little hard work,
you can achieve a well-proportioned healthy
body - not to mention the outward glow
that comes from feeling good inside.
So
be in harmony with your age. Learn to
understand and respect your body. It's
your temple. And remember, discipline
is liberation!

If
you become breathless slow down your pace.
Breathe deeply during the entire sequence.
Land on the balls of your feet and allow
your heels to touch the floor. Be conscious
of pulling up tall and not allowing your
self to slouch or sink in to the waist.
Moving back and forth in a 3 to 4 foot area
will reduce the stress of impact on your
shins and knees.
Try to read the workout book which accompanies
the audio program - it gives more in depth
photographs of what to do. |
|
|
What
makes working out to audio better than visual programming?
It's the fact that you can make and add moves to
the aerobic portion of the workout. As long as you
at lease jog, you are getting a workout. Diagrams
come with the record so you are given a comprehensive
guide to the other parts of the workout (arms, waist,
floor work etc) But for the aerobic portion, it
be up to you.
|
How
many times have you felt like just giving
up? Well that's hard to do when you have
such energetic music playing. You really
don't get this standard any more.
One of the highlights of "New and Improved
Workout" is written by Dean Correa.
You may have heard this heart pumping work
in "Workout
Challenge"
