The
fine art of fitness.
After having
giving birth to her fourth child (congrats Alice!) and admittedly
not being able to cope with a fast paced workout to recover
as with her previous three births, she went in a whole new
direction. As you'll read, she found using a balance of Jane
Fonda's Yoga, weights
workout and occasional low
impact classes, she managed to lose her
weight and regain back her body..

How
it started...
Months
after giving birth to my fourth child, I looked in the mirror
after a shower. As the steam cleared in the bathroom, there
my reflection was, beads of water rolling down my stretch
marks which all connected to my saddle bags like a highway
system in a major city.
It's
funny how you get the most honest view of yourself when you
least expect it. The reflection from certain store windows,
automobiles, and the ones at work are the well known places
where not to look and turn our heads on a low self esteem
day (and even on some skinny days!) So after getting a brutal
dose of honesty I decided that was it, reach for the JF
New Workout, lets burn off this fat and
regain my waist!!
But it wasn't that easy. 11 years had passed since my last
child. I was now 47. Going for the burn seemed less important
in comparison to just being able to exercise.
Sure, a 47 year old can still go the extra mile, but when
you've had 4 children and no aerobic - dance practice in a
long time, it is hard.
I tried, really I did. When I managed to do the high impact
& fun New
Workout, I felt unhappy, and I could feel
my body going an-aerobic, meaning it was working against me.

That
is when it struck me, why stress out doing some thing I personally
find hard to do, and what my body is rejecting & not embracing
like it shouldn't?
So I listed what fitness is, being able to be flexible, strong,
and as slim as my body can without becoming too thin.
So I bought Jane
Fonda's Start-Up (whatever workout I do,
it has to be with Jane) it was low impact but no jumping about.
It is very ballet. I started to do this exclusively for 6
days a week for 2 months. It conditioned my body ready for
a vigorous exercise class, but I was happy with my plan.
Now my quadriceps where tightening, my abdominal's slimmer
and my saddle bags were getting less.
To keep my plan effective, I added JF's
Yoga after startup.
Then
after a month, added Total
Body Sculpting (Jane's second and lighter weights
class)
My body was getting slim and tight!! I hadn't jumped around
at all. It became a fine art for me. Instead of going at it
like a bull in a china store, I was delicately concentrating
on each part / problem on me.
A year later, I look great and have added walking (yes..Jane
Fonda's Walkout!!) and the occasional Low
impact class.
I've lost 26 pounds in weight. My message
to everyone is you can do this too. It's not for the lazy,
it's for the rest of us that don't traditionally fall in to
a certain class of body type.
I have my friends on this plan too if you feel unhappy in
your workout, try this!! |
