 Jane
Fonda's Low Impact Aerobic Workout is the sixth video
in the Workout series, and by far, one of the best.
This innovative routine combines low impact aerobics with
thorough stretch routines to give your body a total workout. |

The
class is composed of:
6 minute warm-up
35 minute low-impact aerobics
10 minute cool-down
The class offers more advanced users to add progressively
heavier wrist weights to add intensity to their aerobic workout.
The combination of weights and aerobics not only burns fat,
but will build the muscles in your arms. If you are a beginner,
do not use wrist weights.
When you have become very familiar with this program, begin
adding half-pound wrist weights, and increase in half-pound
increments every 4-6 weeks until you have worked up to about
2 pounds per wrist.
Jane advises a maximum of 1 pound per wrist, but weights at
the 1.5 and 2 pound level (which Jane's fitness line manufactured)
can be safely and effectively used for this class.

Also, this class has what is perhaps the best stretching
in any of Jane's videos. The warm-up and cool-down are well-coreographed
and demonstrated.
The exercises will surely help one to increase their flexibility.
|

The music is very energetic, combining country-style and upbeat
steal-drum-like mixture of Caribbean and fun latin jazz, similar
to the musical backgrounds used in the Stress Reduction Program.
It makes for excellent music to background the high energy,
dance-like aerobic moves. |

Jane leads this program entirely by herself.
She leads ten other, very energetic students in this well-paced
and clearly-instructed program. |
This
class also has some comic relief, with the addition of student
Peter Sprague, who "wanders in to the studio during taping."
His foolishness is not to be missed.
This
is one of Jane's workouts that is truly for every fitness
level. New users will enjoy the low impact movements and
length, while advanced users will enjoy the optional wrist
weight usage and the many ways to intensify the workout.
During the workout, Jane makes allowances for the participant's
physical problems, making the workout enjoyable for many,
and not just for the physically fit. Some of the stretches
can be difficult for beginners, but modifications are demonstrated
for those
unable to complete them.
This
class is perfect to put in place of the aerobic sections
of the earlier Workouts that include high-impact aerobics.
Still love your Original
Workout but need more than 2 minutes of
aerobics? Here's your answer. Combining this program with
other workouts will ensure a total body workout.
For
those looking to build muscles while getting a great cardio-workout,
consider combining this program with Total
Body Sculpting if you are a beginner,
and combining it with Workout
with Weights if you are more advanced.
If you are looking to use this in combination with a total
body workout that does not use additional weight-resistance
equipment, combine this with the Original
Workout or the New
Workout.
Seventeen
years after its release, this remains one of the most effective
workouts ever produced. For optimal results, combining this
and the Complete
Workout and maintaning a good dietary
program will ensure you amazing results.

No surprise,
but this program was a Billboard chart-topper in 1986 thru
1988, reaching the #1 spot multiple weeks. Before its release,
300,000 were preordered, setting a pre-sale record back
in 1986, as the video cassette industry was still in its
infancy.
