I
thoroughly enjoyed last
week's article for Fonda and fitness fans alike, addressing
the problem of having no time to maintain or even improve their
body - and we all know when we are living the critical years to
improve otherwise we can look forward to old age, bad back and a
waistline off the tape measure!
I'm a mom of 3, and I work full time at a desk job. I do not have
time to pursue a total body fitness make over, but I am SO aware
of my slow metabolism, that I make a point of doing maintenance
workouts every day. I have found through my own way, that I can
transform my body, though it isn't as concentrated as someone with
the time to workout for 1 hour a day, with no interruptions. My
system uses installments of exercises, or "little chunks"
It boils down to the fact that as long as you do 30 minutes of aerobic
exercise each day, you'll keep it ticking. If you do at lease 10
minutes of toning exercises a day, you'll maintain and even start
to build a good looking body.
Here's what I do: Wake up 15 minutes before the time you were going
to get up, and do Jane Fonda's Abs, Buns and Thighs, the Aerobic
portion. This takes about 20 minutes and includes Jane's toning
exercises for the oblique's (where allot of saddle bags and stretch
marks tend to grow after you've had a child!) and for the buttocks.
At work, just before lunch, I'll go for a quick 5 minute jog, or
take the long way to lunch.
When I get home, I do the Abs section of Jane's Abs, Buns and Thighs,
thus completing the whole class during the day. And most recently,
I have started wanting to sculpt my body, and I do use the Abs section
of Jane's Step Aerobic and Abdominal Workout to do it. And you know
what? It works!
Every Sunday and Wednesday, I'll do the Aerobics section of the
workout, that way I end up doing a total of 8 workouts plus 6 ten
minute abs classes, each week!
I've broken my workouts into chunks, and they are still effective.
Why? I think it's because You are taking a workout and stretching
it across the day, so you are constantly topping your metabolism
up.
Is this way slower in weight loss than a regime of regular one hour
workouts? I find it about the same. I lost 18 pounds in less than
a month, and my abs are becoming toned all the time. It won't be
long before I'll be ready for a swim-suit!
